  • No incision or stitches

  • Doesn’t use heat

Treatment Day

Treatment with Varithena is a very simple 1 hour procedure. You are made comfortable in one of our procedure rooms. Using the map of damaged veins made during your consultation, Dr. Jessica Kim identifies the damaged veins that need to be treated. Local anesthesia is used and a single injection or two is performed into the vein. Damaged veins and valves are sealed with the specialized foam sclerosant. This provides immediate restoration of circulation and improvement of symptoms.

Compression socks need to be worn after the treatment for up to 2 weeks. The more they are worn the better. We also advise against any strenuous activity or flying for the first 2 weeks post procedure.
