What are dermal filler products like Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, and Belotero?

Dermal fillers are injections of organic products used to restore volume loss and eliminate unwanted wrinkles.

With time, we all lose about 1% of the skin’s collagen per year after the age of 18. These products can help restore that loss and treat areas besides just wrinkles. These include:

There are several brands of fillers in use today. Each one has its own properties and benefits. If you are interested in or think filler is right for you, we can inform and guide you on which one is most appropriate to address your specific concerns.

How does dermal filler like Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, and Belotero work?

Through the natural aging process, sun damage, and gravity the substances in our skin start to breakdown. This results in a sagging appearance that presents as wrinkles, volume loss, and tired looking facial features. Dermal fillers use hydronic acid gels and other substances to enhance and restore what time has taken away.

By restoring volume loss, a youthful and refreshed look is achieved. When used appropriately, one does not look drastically different. You still look and feel like yourself, just a few years younger.

What is a dermal filler treatment like?

Getting a dermal filler treatment is a quick and easy procedure. It Is a minimally invasive nonsurgical procedure that typically takes about 10 minutes. During your consultation, a skincare expert will discuss various treatment options, go over the different dermal fillers available, and help you decide which treatment option is best for you.

Before the procedure begins, the skin is cleaned and a topical numbing cream is applied. For most patients, the topical numbing cream is able to achieve a painless procedure. However, in some cases, we performed a nerve block to ensure total comfort. Many fillers now include lidocaine which is a mild anesthetic to ensure a comfortable procedure.

After you have been made comfortable, a series of injections are performed to the target area. Following the procedure, you are able to immediately return to normal activities. If large areas are being treated, such as the cheekbones, we may ask you to take a day off from exercising or strenuous activity. The most common side effect is some mild bruising that resolves after a few days.

What’s the difference between the various dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, and Belotero?

This treatment is ideal for people with deep volume loss resulting in sunken temples and cheeks.
